5 Signs You Need to Hire a Plumbing Contractor
June 16, 2022Do you have a clogged drain?
Clogged drains can quickly go from being an annoyance to causing flooding, pest infestations and other health issues. Luckily there is a solution that doesn’t require expensive tools or expertise! Read on for tips about how you too could become one those people who know exactly what they need when their sink starts draining slowly…
In ancient times plumbers had only their wits about them; nowadays we’re not so poor at finding solutions–even if it seems hopeless at first glance because our problems have been caused by blockages like mineral build up around pipes which eventually leads us into situations where water cannot flow freely through its natural course due to diversions (everybody loves this). But, what can you do to solve the issue? Read on to learn how to properly deal with clogged pipes in your kitchen or bathroom sinks.
Start With Hot Water
Start with pouring boiling water down your drain. It can be an effective method to unclog a kitchen or bathroom sink if you know it is blocked by organic matter.
Skip this step if you know that the sink is blocked with plastic or other items. You can easily pour hot water down metal pipes. Hot water can do more harm than good if you have PVC pipes or a porcelain sink.
Homemade Solutions
You can use baking soda and vinegar or other natural homemade solutions to unclog your drain. Pour one cup of water down the pipes, then add two cups each boiling salt-based vinegary liquid, let sit for five minutes before doing so again if needed!
To unclog your sink, first try using one of these tools:
A Plunger – For emergencies when standing water has caused an obstruction in the drain. You should keep a separate plunger for plumbing issues on sinks and other non toilet areas home from toilets as this will help avoid bringing more food/water into that part if you are able to clear it up easily enough with some forceps or augers; Snake – A small flexible funnel shaped tool used typically by homeowners but also sometimes seen at construction sites due its ability pull apart clogged pipes quickly without damaging them too much so they can be removed safely.
Sometimes you just need to call a plumber.
It may be due to clogged drains, your garbage disposal or other plumbing issues that require professional services and attention from the professionals who know what they are doing. A good indication of this is if there’s an unpleasant odor coming out of one system in particular; however it could also mean multiple systems are beginning not work properly which will only get worse until resolved with help fast! Jones Plumbing has been serving our community for over 15 years so we understand how important time-sensitive situations like these truly are.
